Finance Director
Location: Cork
Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Finance Director to manage the financial operations and provide strategic guidance for a complex structure involving two main groups of entities, two separate Management companies , and entities involving third-party investors.
This senior role demands deep technical accounting knowledge, particularly concerning complex property VAT issues , strong financial modelling skills, and the ability to oversee all regulatory and statutory compliance for multiple audit-exempt entities.
Key Strategic & Financial Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Reporting & Analysis
The Director will be responsible for providing the Board and Top Management with comprehensive, forward-looking insights.
- Prepare and present quarterly management accounts with strategic commentary for the Board.
- Provide a Summary of Rental and Development activities.
- Conduct Expenditure analysis across the group.
- Provide Actual and projected Cash flow position for 12 months , managing cash flow and ensuring liquidity for both consolidated groups (Demasta/Rohcage and MCD/Partnerships).
- Produce various ad-hoc reports, including monitoring cash flows and accounts for specific entities (e.g., Monitoring Maya Bay cash flows and accounts).
Financial Modeling, Budgeting & Restructuring
The Director is the lead on all forward-looking financial initiatives.
- Lead budgeting and forecasting and monitor variances across the Group for the main entities.
- Develop Financial models for restructuring and for investments.
- Provide analysis on key events and upcoming matters.
Statutory Compliance and Complex Accounting
The Director holds ultimate responsibility for the integrity of financial records across all legal structures.
- VAT on Property: Must be familiar with this complex area, understanding that the VAT history of any property is vital to proper compliance.
- Oversee the year-end closing process (journals, reconciliations, accruals, prepayments) , including complex intercompany (ICO) reconciliation.
- Coordinate the preparation of annual statutory accounts for external accountants, ensuring all necessary schedules are completed (Bank reconciliation, VAT/PAYE reconciliation, Loans, Fixed assets, Directors accounts, etc.).
- Manage the preparation of Income Tax workings for all relevant partnerships.
Process & Systems Improvement
- Identify and implement process enhancements to improve efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial systems, controls, and intercompany coordination.
