    About the job

    This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Building Foreman to join one of Ireland's leading contractors on a large-scale project in Cork City Centre.

    Position: Building Foreman

    Location: Cork City

    Salary: €70-80k DOE plus bonus, pension, and company vehicle

    The main responsibilities include:

    • Oversee day-to-day operations on-site, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
    • Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, trades, and site personnel.
    • Work closely with the Project Manager and Site Engineer to ensure the programme is being followed and deadlines are met.
    • Ensure construction works comply with all drawings, specifications, and current building regulations.
    • Maintain a strong focus on health & safety, ensuring all works are carried out in line with company policies and statutory regulations.
    • Monitor progress, quality of workmanship, and productivity on site.
    • Attend site meetings and liaise with consultants, clients, and suppliers as required.
    • Maintain detailed site records including daily site diaries, deliveries, and manpower logs.
    • Resolve any unexpected technical difficulties or other problems that may arise.
    • Ensure that site is kept tidy, materials are stored safely, and equipment is well maintained.

    The ideal candidate will possess the following:

    • Trade background (carpentry, concrete, or similar) or relevant construction qualification.
    • Minimum 5+ years' experience as a Foreman on large residential or commercial construction projects in Ireland.
    • Proven ability to manage a team and coordinate all site activities.
    • Strong knowledge of construction methods, health & safety regulations, and quality control systems.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
    • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
    • Strong organisational and time management skills.

    Computer literacy (email, basic document management, familiarity with site management software is an advantage).
