Sustainability Lead

Job Description

Leading civil engineering contractor requires a sustainability lead to join their team and drive their sustainability initiatives forward.

As a sustainability lead in this leading civil engineering company, you will play a pivotal role in advancing their commitment to sustainability by integrating environmentally friendly practices into their construction projects. You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to reduce their environmental impact, increase energy efficiency and promoting sustainable construction methods.

The key responsibilities include:

• Develop, communicate and execute a comprehensive sustainability strategy aligned with the company values and goals.
• Collaborate with project teams to incorporate sustainable design and construction practices into ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency in construction processes and recommend solutions for reducing energy consumption.
• Research and recommend sustainable building materials and construction techniques that minimize waste and environmental impact.
• Ensure compliance with local and national environmental regulations, permits, and certifications.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field.
• Previous experience in a similar sustainability role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of sustainable construction practices, green building certifications, and relevant regulations.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
