Job Description
A great opportunity for a Maintenance Manager with experience in Manufacturing to join a growing brand.
The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of maintenance and reliability activities in a manufacturing plant. This includes managing a team of maintenance technicians, developing and implementing maintenance strategies, managing preventive maintenance programs, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring optimal equipment performance to meet production goals. The Maintenance Manager also collaborates with other departments to improve overall plant performance and minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management: Lead, mentor, and manage a team of maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed. Assign work orders, schedule shifts, and manage resources to ensure timely and efficient maintenance activities.
Maintenance Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance strategy that aligns with the plant's production goals and budget. This includes establishing maintenance schedules, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.
Preventive Maintenance: Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime. Monitor and analyze equipment performance data to identify potential issues and proactively address them to prevent breakdowns.
Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues, determine root causes, and implement corrective actions. Coordinate and oversee repairs, replacements, and upgrades to equipment and systems to minimize production interruptions.
Spare Parts Management: Maintain an inventory of spare parts, tools, and equipment necessary for maintenance activities. Coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate stock levels, manage spare parts budget, and optimize inventory levels to minimize downtime.
Budgeting and Reporting: Develop and manage the maintenance budget, track expenses, and report on budget variances. Prepare regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment performance, and downtime metrics for management review.
Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies. Implement and enforce safety procedures and practices in the maintenance department to maintain a safe work environment.
Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and efficiency gains. Implement best practices, lean principles, and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimize maintenance processes and achieve operational excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, etc.)
- Proven experience in maintenance management, preferably in a manufacturing environment
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing equipment, systems, and processes
- Experience in developing and implementing preventive maintenance programs
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and other relevant software applications
