Forklift Operative

Job Description

Or client, a national leader in the logistics industry, is looking for a Forklift Operative to join their expanding warehousing team for a permanent days position in north Dublin

Role Overview:

This role involves working in our busy warehouse with a number of duties listed below with the purpose of moving inventory and preparing customer orders in an efficient manner, with attention to detail and adhering to instruction in a safe and orderly manner. This position will include functions that relate to both warehouse operations and driving duties.

The Role:

• Picking orders for our main customers and retail sites.
• Receipting deliveries and keeping the warehouse clean and organised.
• Delivering our products to our retail sites.
• Receipting Goods into the warehouse - comparing purchase orders to delivery dockets and checking deliveries for quantity, quality and temperature.
• Correctly recording deliveries in our stock management system and correctly labelling and storing goods in specified warehouse locations.
• Clean and maintain work equipment and storage areas of the warehouse to ensure the highest standards of compliance with Health and Safety and Food Safety regulations.
• Ensure that the external areas of the site are kept clean and tidy at all times.
• Highlight & report any issues to the relevant departmental managers in a timely and accurate manner.
• Liaise with sales order processing department, sales-team, customers and suppliers to deal with queries as they may arise
• Use of forklifts, pallet wrapping machines, power-trucks and other warehouse equipment required in respect of warehouse operations
• Loading, transporting, and delivering products to and from clients or businesses in a safe, timely manner.
• Such other task as from time to time are advised by the Warehouse Supervisor or Head of Warehousing

Essential:

• Previous experience in a warehouse essential.
• Forklift Licence.
• Full clean drivers license.
• Excellent interpersonal/communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and 'Can Do' attitude.
• Willingness to be flexible and have an ability to adapt to a fast-changing environment.
• Manual Handling Certificate training
