Our client is a leading multinational e-commerce company looking for an experienced Business Developemnt Manager with fluent Spanish OR Polish to join their team- Contract

Duration: 6 Months (until February 29th 2024)

About the Team:

Cross Border Trade (CBT) is a central initiative for our client, as they focus on removing international trade barriers for our sellers and unlocking unique inventory for their global buyer base.

The European CBT Seller Team is responsible for driving the sales volume & seller experience for 7 of the European markets (Poland, Spain, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Ireland, Switzerland). Primarily, these are export markets, but with emerging domestic businesses also.

About the Role:

We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join our EU Seller Team, based in Ireland.

The core of our business is the unique selection of products it offers to buyers, through the world's largest selection of sellers. Our European sellers come in many shapes and sizes: individuals selling used products for cash entrepreneurs turning an idea into a flexible income stream for themselves and multi-million dollar businesses using this company as a fixed price retail channel.

In this role, you will focus on seller acquisition from our markets - Poland, Spain, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Ireland and Switzerland. You will be defining and implementing initiatives to acquire new sellers. You will be partnering with a diverse range of teams across the organisation, including Finance, Marketing, Customer Service and Trading and Seller Management teams from other markets.

This role requires a self-starter and organised individual with the willingness to go the extra mile to achieve results.

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and executing seller acquisition strategy, taking ownership of seller acquisition objectives
  • Identifying strategic channels to drive seller acquisition, including conferences, trade shows, publications, strategic partnerships, online channels and others.
  • Representing the client on external events with current and prospective sellers. This can include presenting in front of large audiences, moderating panels, 1:1 interactions or others.
  • Identify, negotiate and execute partnerships with the potential of bringing new sellers to sell on the company website.
  • Working with Marketing teams to define channel strategy for seller acquisition, create relevant content and materials, measure results and identify and implement improvement opportunities
  • Working with Finance to align on budget requirements, reporting, as well as accounting and invoicing support
  • Ensure clear event planning, execution and reporting, with transparency along the process and measurable goals.
  • Supporting onboarding and commercial teams in seller onboarding and management

Skills:

  • Native or fluent in Spanish and/or Polish (highly desirable)
  • 3-5 years of business development experience or related field.
  • Experience organising events and attended plenty of trade shows or similar as a speaker
  • Experience identifying, negotiating and executing strategic partnerships
  • Can self start and execute with limited guidance and supervision
  • Have the ability to plan ahead and you are clear about goals, objectives and how to get there
  • Can co-ordinate & deliver across different functions & departments
  • Have the ability and willingness to travel frequently across Europe
  • Excellent communication and time management skills and have shown that you can work well independently and in a team

EU travel between offices is required for this role (roughly every 3/4 weeks)
