This is an exciting opportunity for a German Technical Support Engineer to join this large Multinational Tech company in Cork.

Role: Technical Support Engineer - German Speaker

Location: Cork / Hybrid

Duration: Permanent

Job Summary

This leading Multinational Tech company is looking for experienced Technical Support Engineers to join their team in Cork or Munich. If you have strong technical problem-solving skills, are a reliable employee, and possess strong customer service orientation - you might be the person our client is looking for.


* Providing support to customers, customer support personnel, and field support staff that is focused on diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing and debugging products

* Responding to situations where first-line product support has failed to isolate or fix problems in hardware or software products

* Create new knowledge base articles and improve existing ones for reuse throughout the Technical Support Centre


* Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent work experience; 3 to 5 years of experience in UNIX, Storage administration or technical support

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German

* Strong interpersonal communication and customer service skills

* Strong aptitude for learning new technologies and understanding how to utilise them in a customer-facing environment

* Ability to follow standard engineering principles and practices

* Solid understanding of one or more of the following protocols, applications, and platforms: NFS, CIFS, SAN , iSCSI, TCP/IP, RAID, DNS, NIS and AD

Applicants must have at least one or more areas of expertise such as:

* UNIX/Linux configuration, administration, and technical support

* Microsoft Windows environment configuration, system administration, and technical support

* NAS and/or SAN storage and surrounding infrastructure

* SAN storage infrastructure (Broadcom, Cisco)

* The interoperability of enterprise applications (such as Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and SAP) with internal storage systems and solutions

* Server, and Desktop Virtualization Solutions (such as VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix)

* Expertise in one or more cloud solutions is a plus:

o AWS Cloud solutions

o Google Cloud solutions

o Azure Cloud solutions

o Cloud orchestration (K8s)
