Our Client, a large Insurance Company with a global footprint, is looking for a Senior Compliance Officer will work as part of a team that is responsible for ensuring that the company observes all relevant regulations and codes. This role is an initial 12 Month Fixed Term Contract.

Key Responsibilites:

  • Monitor adherence and work with the business on compliance related matters
  • Perform internal independent compliance monitoring reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulation
  • Assess compliance risks and controls in place by the business to mitigate the associated compliance risks
  • Review and assess compliance requirements on significant business projects, ensuring all legal and regulatory requirements arising from projects and business initiatives are being considered and included within project scope
  • Maintain regulatory awareness - This includes interpretation of existing and proposed new guidance and legislation and propose how they should be implemented within the business.
  • Assist with engagement with Regulatory Bodies and themed inspections
  • Ensure Regulatory returns are submitted by due date and appropriately reviewed and approved

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Professional qualification in Accountancy or Legal Disciplines desire
  • 5+ years compliance and regulatory experience in Compliance Officer role
  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory environment in UK and ROI
  • Insurance or Financial Services Background
  • Knowledge of insurance processes and operations

Skills Required

  • Highly motivated with an ability to demonstrate creative problem-solving and analytical skills within a fast-paced and challenging environment
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to work with diverse groups including legal, sales, operations and senior management
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Very strong research and collaboration skills
  • Ability to represent the Company publicly and with confidence
  • Ability to balance a number of conflicting priorities and make decisions
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • Self-motivated, able to plan and prioritise workload in order to achieve deadlines
  • Work independently or with minimal supervision and make decisions on medium level risks
