Job Description
Health and Safety Advisor required for Cork based engineering consultancy on a large construction project on the outskirts of Cork City.
This Cork based engineering consultancy require an experienced Health and Safety Advisor to join their team on a large construction project for a multinational client. You will be representing the client on the project and ensuring that the project is run in accordance with all environmental, health & safety standards.
The main requirements of the role are:
- Act as the clients Safety Representative and oversee the PSCS on the project.
- Review risk assessments and actioning control measures where required.
- Review method statements for various work activities on site, submitted by the contractor.
- Reviewing and commenting on construction stage health and safety plans and task specific risk assessments.
- Investigate and report on all EHS incidents ensuring thorough investigations and corrective measures are implemented.
- Oversee contractor insurance requirements and ensuring they are in line with Group requirements.
- Promote best practice and direct site personnel on areas of concern.
- Completion of EHS plans, registers and complete weekly/monthly/annual reports.
- Reviewing and approving sub-contractor EHS documents and ensuring compliance on-site.
- Conducting regular site EHS inspections and producing reports.
- Developing and delivering toolbox talks to site operatives.
- Lead and promote an open continuous improvement culture in relation to all health, safety, and environmental work practices on the site/project.
- Promoting a positive safety culture onsite with contractors.
The successful candidate will:
- Have proven competence of health, safety and welfare regulations, guidelines, and best practices in Site Health and Safety
- Have experience in an EHS or similar position, ideally within a pharm/med tech/life science with a live operational environment.
- Be proficient in MS Office - PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and safety management software.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish effective professional relationships.
- Have excellent reporting skills
- Have experience of working in a manufacturing/process environment
- Have a Third level Qualification or equivalent relevant work experience
- Be fluent in English
