Head of Special Projects and Strategy is responsible for developing and executing the company's strategic vision through leadership of critical, non-routine initiatives and projects. Key duties include strategic planning, managing transformation programs, identifying new business opportunities, and overseeing projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, managing resources, and facilitating cross-functional collaboration.
Strategic leadership and planning
- Develop and refine strategy: Collaborate with the CEO and leadership team to set the company's strategic vision, priorities, and goals.
- Lead strategic planning: Oversee the annual strategic planning process, quarterly business reviews, and board communications.
- Provide strategic insights: Analyze industry trends, market conditions, and competitive landscapes to provide recommendations to the leadership team.
- Drive transformation: Lead company-wide initiatives to improve efficiency, enhance digital capabilities, and foster innovation.
Special projects management
- Project oversight: Manage a portfolio of high-priority, strategically important projects from concept to completion.
- Project planning and execution: Develop project plans, define scope, set milestones, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Coordinate with various departments (e.g., operations, IT, finance, marketing) to ensure seamless project execution and stakeholder alignment.
- Risk management: Proactively identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Reporting: Monitor and report on project progress to senior management and stakeholders.
Business development and problem-solving
- Identify opportunities: Evaluate new business ventures, strategic partnerships, and alliances that align with company objectives.
- Develop business cases: Lead the development of feasibility studies and investment proposals for new initiatives.
- Problem-solving: Act as a thought partner to senior leadership, providing solutions for complex and strategic challenges, and removing barriers to project success.
- Innovation and process improvement: Champion a culture of continuous improvement and implement initiatives to enhance business processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree from a reputable university
- A minimum of 20 years of experience in managing large-scale and complex projects and strategy, from the industries such as property development, infrastructure and construction
- Excellent command of Chinese and English
