About the Role:
Our client is hiring a highly experienced and motivated Head of Quality Assurance to lead QA efforts for the European market. This critical role will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of the home appliance products, from design and development through manufacturing and distribution. You will build and lead a team of QA professionals, implement robust quality control processes, and drive continuous improvement to exceed customer expectations and meet all relevant EU regulations.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy for home appliances targeting the EU market.
- Lead and manage a team of QA engineers and technicians, providing guidance, training, and performance management.
- Establish and maintain quality standards, procedures, and documentation in compliance with EU regulations and industry best practices (e.g., ISO 9001).
- Oversee the testing and inspection of products at various stages of the production process, including incoming materials, in-process manufacturing, and finished goods.
- Identify and analyze quality issues, implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and track their effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain, to ensure quality is integrated throughout the product lifecycle.
- Manage relationships with external testing laboratories and certification bodies.
- Monitor and analyze key quality metrics, identify trends, and implement improvements to reduce defects and enhance product reliability.
- Stay up-to-date on relevant EU regulations, industry standards, and emerging technologies related to home appliance quality.
- Manage the QA budget and resources effectively.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, or related field) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role within the home appliance industry.
- In-depth knowledge of EU regulations and standards for home appliances (e.g., CE marking, RoHS, REACH, WEEE).
- Proven experience in developing and implementing quality management systems (QMS).
- Strong understanding of quality control methodologies, statistical process control (SPC), and root cause analysis techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English is required; proficiency in another European language is a plus.
