Location: Finland (Project-based), with an Irish Construction Company

Job Type: Full-time, Project-based

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Advisor to join our team for an exciting project based in Finland.

Job Description:

As a Health and Safety Advisor, you will play a critical role in promoting a culture of safety and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations on our construction project in Finland. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining health and safety policies, conducting risk assessments, and providing guidance to our project team to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in accordance with company standards and local regulations.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement appropriate control measures to mitigate risks.
  • Provide training and support to employees on health and safety practices and procedures.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and prepare detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Liaise with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to promote a strong safety culture.
  • Ensure all health and safety documentation is up-to-date and properly maintained.
  • Stay informed of relevant health and safety legislation and industry best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • A relevant qualification in Health and Safety (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is essential.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices, particularly in a construction setting.
  • Experience working on international projects is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of Finnish is an advantage.
