Job Description

Our client is looking for an Impairment Manager, someone who is experienced in reporting, analysis and has good local market knowledge.

Your Role:

As a manager on the Impairment team, you will play a key role in ensuring impairment reporting and analysis is completed in a timely and robust manner. You will be expected to suggest and lead model deep dives and mini projects with the aim to deliver insightful, meaningful and clear reporting to various stakeholders internally and externally. You will lead your team to ensure they feel like they are making a meaningful contribution and enjoy bringing their authentic self to work.

Your Team:

  • Reporting into the Senior Manager - Impairment
  • As one of three managers on the team you will have responsibility for the day-to-day management of five analysts, with 1-2 direct reports

Your Responsibilities:

  • Working with the Impairment Senior Manager to develop a vision for the Impairment team.
  • Deliver monthly impairment results in line with applicable accounting and regulatory guidance.
  • Ensure a robust reporting process with regards to timeline and stakeholder management.
  • Provide appropriate challenges of the Group's IFRS 9 models and inputs.
  • Present Impairment results and insight on a regular basis to the relevant Governance Committee's.
  • Prepare Financial Statement disclosures and support External and internal audit reviews.
  • Lead model deep dives and mini projects with the aim to deliver insightful, meaningful, and straightforward analysis to various stakeholders internally and externally.

Requirements:

Essential

  • Honours Bachelor's Degree (NFQ Level 8) in a business/accounting/economics or associated subject area or 5 years' relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with an innovative, creative approach to problem solving.
  • Knowledge of Accounting principles (IFRS 9) and Regulatory Guidance that govern impairment.
  • Open and honest, embrace change, and encourage team and individual development.
  • Ability to prioritise workloads and show determination to deliver within challenging timeframes.

Desired

  • Well-developed report writing and presentation skills and an ability to interact at senior levels in the organisation.
  • Proficiency in SAS and other SQL applications.
