Our client one of Irelands leading manufacturer of high quality animal nutrition products and supplements.

The Production Planning Manager will enjoy overall responsibility for coordinating and planning the manufacturing activities. Maximising efficiency and ensuring production targets are met on time. Reporting to the Site Operations Manager

Your responsibilities include:

Coordinate Cost-Effective Schedules:

  • Work with operations to create cost-efficient production schedules that boost operational efficiency.

Supervise Production Teams:

  • Manage daily activities, guide staff, ensure safe practices, and maintain high morale.

Plan and Maintain Manufacturing Schedules:

  • Develop production timelines and manage equipment capacity to meet demand without delays.

Ensure Quality and Compliance:

  • Partner with QA to maintain product quality and ensure compliance with internal and external audits.

Manage Supply Chain and Stock:

  • Coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely material delivery and optimize stock management to prevent shortages or overages.

Drive Continuous Improvement and Safety:

  • Implement initiatives to improve production efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance safety practices. Ensure adherence to budgetary constraints

The Person

  • Bachelor of Science / Engineering or relevant qualification, or equivalent experience.
  • Good knowledge of production planning, scheduling housekeeping, health and safety.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Previous experience of people management (minimum 7 years) and demonstrated ability in people motivation, organizing and team building would be a distinct advantage
  • Solid record of attention to detail and strict adherence to procedures.

Experience

  • 7 years' experience in an Operations / Production Management capacity in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to consistently deliver results, demonstrate ownership and accountability.
  • Experience working in a fast paced manufacturing environment in one or more of the following industries is an advantage - food or pharmaceutical.
  • Demonstrate a very high degree of both understanding and ability, in planning and the manufacturing process.
