Job Description

Our client a leading provider of Isolator and Sampling equipment to the bio-pharmaceutical market is looking for an experienced Production Planner to join their team in Cork.

The Production Planner will work in a multi-functional team working closely with Operations,

Purchasing, Senior Management, Finance and Technical team leads to provide planning

solutions aligned with delivery requirements and cost estimates. To report on financial costs

accrued and adherence to project schedules.

ROLE DESCRIPTION:

  • Lead in production planning on a day-to-day basis in terms of resource capacity for Mechanical, electrical and Automation processes.
  • Proactively reports product and material availability issues.
  • Develop and generate a planning model to suit engineered to order business model.
  • Take full responsibility for ensuring the longer-term production plan is fully reviewed on a weekly basis in conjunction with all stakeholders.
  • Maintain & analyse all production planning performance metrics - on-time start, on-time completion & delivery, lead-time compliance, aged work orders, labour, and material variances; identify, communicate, and resolve issues for best results.
  • Regularly update production variances and adjust the production plan for best results.
  • Regular communications with operations/engineering/purchasing/shipping teams to review production plan and performance metrics.
  • Work with the project management team to develop the production plan based on lead times and resource availability.
  • Support in the automation of current processes and practices via ERP (Epicor) to improve efficiency within the team.
  • Responsible for monitoring and maintaining transactional accuracy in the Epicor system for inventory control and material usage in production.
  • Preparation of the Work Orders in Epicor for manufacture.
  • Monitoring the close out of Jobs on Epicor.
  • Work with Epicor administration to develop planning modules and improvements to process.
  • Monitoring the standard times on production jobs on Epicor.
  • Setting up / Updating Jobs and releasing to Purchasing.

JOB DESCRIPTION REQUIREMENTS

  • 3rd Level Qualification an advantage but not required - Technical, Business, Supply Chain.
  • 3-5 years' experience in a similar role, preferably within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge and experience using ERP Systems.
  • Experience with Project management applications.
  • Excellent capabilities on Microsoft Office suite, in particular high level Excel expertise.
  • Detail-orientated, ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
  • Persuasive with well-developed influencing and presentation skills.
  • Data analysis and numeric skills, using logic and reasoning to help establish solutions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation & problem-solving skills.
  • Highly motivated Self Starter.
