We are working with a leading banking organisation that is looking to appoint an experienced Vice President - Accounting to join their finance function in London.
This is a senior leadership position, ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong background within banking, excellent knowledge of IFRS, and proven experience managing and developing a team.
The Role
As Vice President - Accounting, you will take responsibility for leading a team within the bank's accounting function, ensuring high-quality financial reporting and compliance with relevant IFRS accounting standards.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and the wider business, providing accounting expertise and supporting the delivery of accurate and timely financial information.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage and develop a team of accounting professionals.
- Oversee financial accounting and reporting activities within the bank.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and relevant accounting requirements.
- Review and challenge accounting treatments and financial reporting.
- Partner with senior stakeholders across Finance, Risk, Treasury and the wider business.
- Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and business activities.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Ensure financial information is accurate, complete and delivered within agreed deadlines.
- Drive improvements across accounting processes, controls and reporting.
- Act as a senior point of contact for accounting matters across the business.
- Present financial and accounting information to senior management and key stakeholders.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Strong accounting experience within a bank or financial services organisation.
- Proven experience managing and developing a team.
- Strong knowledge and practical application of IFRS.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders across a complex organisation.
- Excellent financial reporting and technical accounting knowledge.
- Experience working within a regulated financial services environment.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- The ability to lead, influence and make decisions at a senior level.
- Fluent Mandarin and English, both written and spoken.
- Ideally, a recognised accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA or CIMA.

£120,000 base salary + benefits
