Transaction Services Tax Partner
Location: London
The opportunity
Our client is a high-growth, private equity-backed top 10 accounting firm. They are investing heavily in their deals proposition and want a Transaction Services Tax Partner to build and lead their transaction tax offering in London.
You will advise private equity houses, their portfolio companies and owner-managed businesses on the tax aspects of transactions. The client base spans SMEs through to international groups, across a broad range of sectors. This is a rare chance to shape a practice from an early stage, with the backing of a firm that has the capital and ambition to scale it.
The role
- Lead and grow the transaction tax practice, setting strategy and winning new mandates
- Deliver buy-side and sell-side tax due diligence, vendor due diligence and structuring advice
- Advise on acquisition structuring, funding, management incentives, tax-efficient exits and reorganisations
- Support SPA and tax warranty/indemnity negotiations and tax insurance (W&I) processes
- Build relationships with PE sponsors, law firms, lenders and other intermediaries
- Work closely with Transaction Services, Corporate Finance and wider advisory colleagues to deliver joined-up solutions
- Recruit, develop and inspire a growing team of managers, directors and associates
About you
- Experience as a Partner or Director with a clear route to Partner in transaction tax, ideally within a top 10 firm or a leading deals advisory practice
- Strong technical grounding in M&A tax, with experience across the full deal lifecycle, including MBOs, secondary buyouts, roll-ups and cross-border transactions
- A visible network within the UK private equity and mid-market community and a track record of originating work
- A commercial, pragmatic approach that works equally well with owner-managers and institutional investors
- Entrepreneurial energy, with a leader's presence and the ability to attract and retain talent
- ACA, CTA or equivalent professional qualification
Why join
- Partner-level influence in a firm with PE backing and real growth ambition
- The platform and investment to build a market-leading practice rather than inherit one
- A genuine mid-market client base, with the variety that comes from working across sectors and deal sizes
- A collaborative, entrepreneurial culture with less bureaucracy than the largest firms
