An established and growing consumer goods business is seeking a Supply Chain Finance Coordinator to join its UK operations. This is a highly cross-functional role at the intersection of supply chain, finance, and systems, ideal for someone with a strong analytical mindset and a passion for data, process improvement, and automation.
You'll play a key role in ensuring the operational and financial accuracy of logistics activities, while also driving improvements through reporting, systems, and technology. This position offers excellent exposure across finance and operations, with the opportunity to make a tangible impact on processes and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
Inbound Logistics (International)
- Coordinate inbound shipments (ocean & air) from global suppliers (including Far East and Americas)
- Act as the main point of contact for freight forwarders, suppliers, and warehouse partners
- Track shipments and proactively manage delays, risks, and exceptions
- Monitor and analyse lead times, freight rates, and carrier performance
- Ensure accuracy of customs documentation and import processes
- Review and approve freight and duty invoices against agreed rates
- Support freight optimisation, consolidation, and cost efficiency initiatives
- Assist with forecasting and inventory planning, including purchase order placement
Outbound Distribution (UK & Ireland)
- Coordinate outbound transport operations across the UK & Ireland
- Collaborate with carriers and partners to maintain service levels
- Monitor delivery performance, KPIs, and claims processes
- Analyse transport costs and identify efficiency improvements
- Support ongoing improvements in distribution processes and service reliability
- Partner with commercial teams to optimise stock allocation
Master Data Management
- Manage SKU creation and ERP system setup
- Maintain accurate logistics master data across ERP and PIM systems
- Build and manage data templates for reporting and operational needs
Operational Finance & Analysis
- Own the procure-to-pay process for logistics suppliers
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
- Support monthly accruals, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Produce reporting on logistics spend, KPIs, and cost drivers
- Partner with finance and supply chain teams on budgeting and cost control
- Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data analysis
Systems, Data & Automation
- Act as a systems super-user across ERP and supply chain tools
- Develop and maintain reporting dashboards (Excel, BI tools)
- Identify and automate manual processes (e.g. Power Automate, AI tools)
- Support systems improvements, integrations, and standardisation
- Champion a data-driven approach across operations
About You
- 2-4 years' experience in supply chain, finance, logistics, or operations
- Strong analytical mindset with a keen interest in data and financial processes
- Experience coordinating international freight (Far East exposure beneficial)
- Understanding of UK & Ireland logistics/distribution networks
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups; Power Query advantageous)
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g. Sage, Microsoft GP, or similar)
- Tech-savvy, with an interest in systems, automation, and AI tools
- Detail-oriented, commercially aware, and highly organised
- Proactive problem-solver with a continuous improvement mindset
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a dynamic environment
