Morgan McKinley are working with a leading international law firm, seeking an experienced litigation lawyer to join its Risk & Legal team on an initial 12 month fixed term contract.
This role will sit within the firm's Professional Liability function and report directly to the Head of Professional Liability.
The team advises on a wide range of legal and regulatory risk issues including claims, complaints, insurance, professional conduct, and regulatory matters.

Support the management and reporting of professional liability claims
Draft responses to client complaints and liaise with the Legal Ombudsman
Investigate claims and manage simpler disputes independently; liaise with external counsel on more complex matters
Track complaint and claims deadlines, ensuring timely resolution
Assist with insurance notifications and renewals across PI and non-PI risks
Provide input into internal and regulatory investigations
Support on wider contentious matters including supplier disputes
Ensure compliance with SRA Standards and other regulatory obligations
UK qualified solicitor with 5-7+ years' post-qualification experience in civil/commercial litigation
Experience in professional negligence, ideally including claims against law firms
Knowledge of insurance coverage matters is advantageous
Background may be from private practice or in-house (legal risk or general counsel's office)
Able to manage matters autonomously, with sound judgement and communication skills
Adaptable, pragmatic and resilient, with the ability to work effectively in a high-performing team
Previous experience in a large City or international law firm is desirable
