AVP - IT Financial Management - Leading Financial Services Business - London - up to £70,000 + generous bonus + benefits
We are partnering confidentially with a globally recognised financial services business to recruit an Financial Management AVP - IT professional. You'll play a key role in building and managing the budgets for the Technology division, tracking expenditure, analysing variances and supporting financial decision-making for a rapidly growing IT environment.
This is a newly created role driven by growth - the organisation is undertaking several major technology programmes, bringing on more vendors and significantly increasing its overall Technology budget. You'll join a collaborative team of four, working closely with senior Technology, Procurement and Finance stakeholders in a high-visibility, strategic function.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Cost Oversight
- Track and report on Technology division expenditure across BAU and project portfolios.
- Analyse financial variances, preparing clear commentary and insights for leadership review.
- Support monthly meetings with Finance to review Technology accounts and KPIs.
- Investigate spend trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
Budgeting & Planning
- Create and manage budgets for the Technology organisation, ensuring accuracy and alignment with business plans.
- Support the annual budget cycle, working closely with Finance and Technology leaders.
- Provide analysis and data insights to support strategic planning and resource allocation.
Purchase Controls & Vendor Oversight
- Review purchase requisitions for Technology projects and BAU activities, ensuring correct approvals and budget alignment.
- Monitor vendor spend across an expanding supplier base.
- Ensure robust financial governance as the Technology budget grows in scale and complexity.
Office of the CIO Support
- Support approval forums for the CIO and senior leadership. Assist with cost analysis, data gathering, cleansing and interpretation.
Your Profile
- Qualified or part-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Understanding of accounting principles, budgeting, cost control and financial management.
- High attention to detail and ability to spot inconsistencies in data.
- Strong communication skills with confidence engaging senior stakeholders.
- Familiarity with procurement and vendor management processes.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong financial analysis capability. Experience on Oracle desirable but not essential
- Collaborative and proactive, with the ability to bring recommendations to senior leadership and influence decisions.
