Job Description

Automation QA Engineer - Selenium, BDD, TDD - £65,000 - £75,000

A large financial services organisation based in Milton Keynes and London is looking to hire Automation QA Engineer to join their Innovation Hub on permanent basis.

You will join a team of exceptionally talented engineers, developers and designers committed to helping the business deliver value through use of the latest technologies and ideas including blockchain, AI, Chatbots, Big Data etc.

You will help develop the team through continued learning and challenge the ways of working to accelerate innovation trough agility, design thinking and hypothesis driven development.

You will have the opportunity to grow and learn through the challenge of building software in a highly dynamic and inventive environment.

Key skills and Experience

  • An experienced software automation QA engineer
  • Strong knowledge on automation testing frameworks using Selenium, Appium and Detox.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, JavaScript and Java.
  • Strong experience automating testing on restful APIs, big plus if used IBM API Connect.
  • Strong experience automating front end testing on web-based application as well as iOS and Android native applications.
  • Strong understanding of the different types of testing such as functional testing, performance testing and security testing.
  • Working knowledge with common testing patterns and tools such as BDD, TDD, Cucumber, Cypress, Jest.
  • Experience with modern DevOps patterns and tools such as Gitlab, CI/CD, Openshift, Docker, Jenkins.
  • Candidates who will contribute to the continuous improvement of the team, both through teaching and through learning
  • Strong communication skills e.g. confident reviewing code and discussing requirements with stakeholders.
  • Experience working with agile frameworks.
  • Experience in managing the governance around the testing of new components, preparation, and execution of tests.
  • Knowledge on scalable microservice architectures to carry out tasks.
