A fantastic HR opportunity based in Bristol centre

Morgan McKinley HR are looking to recruit a HR and office Manager for a Bristol based business.

This is a very important appointment for a business that is going through an exciting period of change and growth. You will be reporting to a Finance Director on a day to day basis but you will have full responsibility for all HR and office matters.

This is an exciting role for someone who is looking to get stuck in and get involved in the companies journey. You will have a fantastic support on the HR side but you will need to be be self sufficient and able to make decisions.

Responsibilities:

HR

  • Manage and improve effective HR systems, policies and procedures
  • Drive employee engagement and performance by championing of Health and Wellbeing (both physical and mental) and internal communications including Company-wide events.
  • Provide support to managers on recruitment, induction, performance management, employee development, absence management, return to work, grievance, disciplinary and terminations.
  • Prepare and issue appropriate contractual documentation in relation to appointments, terminations and variations of employment including accurate notification to payroll.
  • Oversee the production of all letters and issuing of formal documentation to employees relating to promotions, starters, leavers, salary changes, maternity / paternity / adoption leave requests, changes to working hours, job roles and any other matters requiring written communication.
  • Build effective consultative working relations with employees at all levels worldwide, providing advice and guidance on HR policies and HR related issues
  • Assist The Head of Training where necessary, in developing and conducting internal training for all employees.
  • Ensure effective KPIs are in place for key HR processes e.g. monitoring of sickness trends and remedial action in accordance with the company's policy, timely annual appraisals etc.
  • Lead projects as required to develop HR objectives and to ensure company growth and efficiency e.g. policy updates, employee handbook, contracts, Atlas system, Appraisals, Employee Surveys, IIP accreditation, CPD, TNA
  • Liaise with Senior Management Team (SMT) on HR related issues that need to be addressed, and improvements made for legal and organisational effectiveness purposes.

Office Management

  • To be point the company point of contact for all office administration questions.
  • Ensure the Head Office building based in central Bristol is maintained in a clean, tidy, and professional way and it complies with all COVID requirements at all times.
  • Manage the company car process
  • Devise and maintain a system for effective records retention to include scanning and filing of documents.
  • Build an effective relationship with outsourced travel company (currently Thorntons) to ensure all travel, transport and accommodation requirements are met.
  • Support the office infrastructure by maintaining stationary, kitchen and other sundries stock levels.
  • Create new or improve existing processes, preferred supplier lists and terms across all areas of the business including but not limited to travel, accommodation, stationery, cleaning and maintenance, health and safety and office management.
  • Taking responsibility for all health and safety matters, ensuring that all action points which are deemed reasonable for carrying out in line with the Citation Health and Safety report.
  • Ensuring that routine fire extinguisher and PAT testing is carried out, everyone is aware of fire procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with approved company, statutory and regulatory policies, and procedures. Including ensuring relevant training is provided for Fire Marshals, Mental Health, and physical First Aiders.
  • Managing the day to day running and improvement of the office environment, proactively suggesting improvements
  • Managing internal and external meetings, ensuring that agendas and minutes are drawn up within reasonable timescales if required.
