Job Description

My client, a newly formed payments company, headquartered in Singapore, is looking to hire a Head of APAC Compliance. This role will be based in Singapore, covering the APAC region.

The role of Head of Compliance for this payments company is extremely varied. We are looking for a mid level compliance professional that wants to work in an entrepreneurial environment. You will have either payment services, fintech, banking or financial services industries, and a strong track record of implementation and execution of regulatory and compliance programs. You will head the Singapore regulatory and compliance division and will play a critical role in helping to develop a regulatory framework and compliance program.

You will be supporting the licensing application, which includes dealing with all regulatory and compliance matters, such as designing compliance strategy in line with legal requirements and MAS guidelines, managing the regulatory relationship with external regulators and stakeholders, drafting and implementing policies, SOPs, systems, governance, and internal controls.

Responsibilities;

  • Design and implement regulatory and compliance frameworks to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations
  • Draft and implement policies, SOPs, systems, and internal controls for regulatory compliance programs to ensure licensing commitments and obligations are fulfilled
  • Manage relationships with regulators
  • Monitor new services and product launches to ensure compliance with existing legal and regulatory requirements and guidelines

Experience Required;

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a regulatory compliance role
  • Very hands on approach to work, as well as independent
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Able to multitask exceptionally well
  • Payments, fintech, banking, financial institution, or other relevant experience
  • Able to manage regulatory matters pertaining to licensing applications
  • Ability to manage different stakeholders and understand business needs whilst ensuring unimpeachable compliance with regulatory obligations
  • Demonstrated experience managing relationships with regulators
  • Management experience is preferred
