Join a leading global technology and e-commerce company as a Cloud Operations Administrator within the Cloud Services Department. As part of the Container Platform Group, you will help operate and maintain one of the largest enterprise Kubernetes platforms in Japan, supporting more than 100 Kubernetes clusters and 10,000+ nodes powering mission-critical services across a global digital ecosystem.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for infrastructure engineers with expertise in Kubernetes, Linux, Cloud Infrastructure, and Platform Operations to work in a cloud-native environment while building a long-term career with strong potential for permanent employment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, maintain, and continuously improve large-scale Kubernetes container platforms supporting enterprise cloud services.
- Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), operational documentation, and change management processes.
- Provision, scale, upgrade, and decommission Kubernetes clusters and infrastructure nodes.
- Monitor platform health, investigate system alerts, troubleshoot incidents, and ensure high platform availability.
- Perform operating system updates, middleware upgrades, and security patch management to maintain infrastructure compliance.
- Execute scheduled infrastructure maintenance and production releases during planned maintenance windows.
- Provide second-level engineering support for complex infrastructure issues escalated from first-line support teams.
- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to improve operational efficiency, automation, and platform reliability.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of experience operating large-scale cloud infrastructure, telecommunications platforms, financial systems, or other mission-critical enterprise environments.
- Valid Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) certification, or willingness to obtain certification within three months of joining.
- Experience administering Kubernetes, Linux servers, and enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Experience supporting infrastructure maintenance, system upgrades, incident management, and production operations.
- Ability to support scheduled late-night maintenance windows when required.
- Strong understanding of cloud-native infrastructure and container orchestration.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Experience automating infrastructure operations or developing enterprise applications.
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and enterprise network fundamentals.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring and observability platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, Cortex, Elasticsearch, or Kibana.
- Experience working with Istio, service mesh technologies, or Kubernetes networking.
- Experience with private cloud or public cloud platforms is advantageous but not essential.
