Based in Yokohama, you will work directly with customers on vacuum technology, sensing products, gas analysis, and process control solutions. You will provide technical product explanations and training, support customer application development, manage product installation, and troubleshoot complex technical issues.
Acting as a technical bridge between customers and global manufacturing and development teams, you will identify customer requirements, analyse technical issues, and recommend appropriate solutions.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Application Engineer, FAE, Sales Engineer, or Technical Service Engineer with a background in semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, electrical/electronics, or vacuum technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide pre-sales technical support for semiconductor and high-technology customers.
- Respond to technical and product-related customer inquiries.
- Explain product specifications, functionality, applications, and technical capabilities to customers.
- Deliver technical product training and application support.
- Support customer application development using vacuum measurement, sensing, gas analysis, and related technologies.
- Manage product delivery, installation, commissioning support, and technical defect response.
- Conduct customer interviews to understand technical requirements, applications, and operational challenges.
- Identify customer issues and perform technical troubleshooting and on-site investigations.
- Analyse technical problems objectively using relevant data and evidence.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and product development teams to investigate and resolve customer issues.
- Prepare technical trouble reports and communicate findings to relevant internal stakeholders.
- Support semiconductor-related applications involving vacuum technology, sensing products, and technical service.
- Develop appropriate technical proposals based on customer requirements and application needs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 3+ years of professional experience in electrical equipment, semiconductors, semiconductor equipment, or a related technology industry.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas: vacuum technology, electrical/electronics technical service, Field Application Engineering (FAE), or semiconductor applications.
- Experience providing technical support or application engineering for customers.
- Ability to investigate technical issues and perform hands-on troubleshooting.
- Experience analysing technical data objectively and using findings to support problem resolution.
- Understanding of customer requirements and ability to develop logical technical proposals.
- Master's degree or higher in a relevant technical or engineering discipline.
