We are delighted to present an exciting opportunity for a strong Assistant Accountant or Part-Qualified Accountant to join a leading engineering company.
This is a newly created position that offers excellent growth potential and the opportunity to play a pivotal role within the finance team. Working closely with the Finance Director, the successful candidate will gain broad, hands-on exposure across key areas of financial operations.
The role will involve supporting core finance activities including accounts payable and receivable, journal postings, bank reconciliations, intercompany transactions, and month-end close processes. This position provides an excellent opportunity for a motivated finance professional to develop their skills and progress their career within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Salary is DOE €40,000 - €45,000
Core responsibilities:
- Supporting with accounts payable, payments and invoicing
- Assist the Financial Director with month end close, journal entries, preparation of monthly management accounts etc
- Management of company bank accounts and relevant bank reconciliations
- Raise sales invoices, post receipts, report AR aging and chase overdue invoices on both phone and email
- Ensure accurate recording of VAT and RCT across financial transactions.
- Assist with the preparation financial trackers and performance reports
- Assisting in monitoring and managing cashflow to optimise performance
- Assist external accounting firm in all matters relating to audit and tax compliance.
- Supporting both weekly and monthly payroll processing and relevant query management
Person Specification & Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2-3 years' relevant accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of debits &credits/ double entry, experience with Payable, Receivable, reconciliations work
- IATI or working towards/ Part Qualified Accountant advantageous but not essential
- Experience with excel, Sage and Brightbooks would be advantageous
- Engineering or Construction sector experience is advantageous but not essential
- Strong communication skills are essential, ability to build rapport with stakeholders and deal with customer query resolution
- Strong attention to detail, strong time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with problem-solving capability.
