Manager, Process/Projects Engineer - Wexford
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Manager, Process/Projects Engineer to join a leading manufacturing and innovation facility based in Wexford Town. This permanent role is central to the site's engineering group, driving capital projects, process improvements, sustainability initiatives, and providing expert process engineering support.
This position will suit a highly skilled engineer with a proven background in large-scale manufacturing, strong project management expertise, and the ability to deliver innovative solutions in a regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage diverse capital and high-profile projects from proposal through to implementation, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
Prepare and manage technical project proposals, budgets, and capital plans.
Manage external contractors and consultants across all project phases, including scope, tendering, and performance monitoring.
Drive process improvements in quality, productivity, energy efficiency, and cost optimisation.
Support R&D, process development, and scale-up activities.
Provide expert process engineering support across operations, technical, and engineering teams.
Lead Management of Change (MOC) processes to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and engineering standards.
Contribute to sustainability and zero-carbon initiatives, particularly in utilities and energy efficiency.
Ensure up-to-date documentation, regulatory compliance, and safeguarding of company assets.
Requirements:
Degree in Mechanical, Process, or Chemical Engineering.
10+ years' experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment (e.g. food, beverage, pharma, healthcare).
Strong experience managing capital projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams.
Proven ability to manage design and construction contracts within the process industry.
Expertise in process safety standards (e.g. COMAH, Seveso, ATEX, HAZOP).
Knowledge of process control, automation systems (PLC, DeviceNet, ControlNet, Ethernet), and instrumentation selection.
Familiarity with industry standards for electrical installations, safety regulations, and best practices.
Excellent planning, analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
Strong interpersonal and communication abilities.
