Roles/Responsibilities
- Only Candidates Currently in Japan can be Considered for this role
- Provide comprehensive legal support for all business lines, including transactional and advisory roles.
- Draft and review a variety of legal documents in both Japanese and English, such as loan agreements, collateral agreements, guarantees, and confidentiality agreements.
- Manage external counsel, ensuring appropriate appointment and use.
- Assist the Compliance Department with local regulations, laws, and policies.
- Offer client-driven solutions for legal and regulatory issues, contributing to strategic business planning.
- Stay updated on legal, regulatory, and case law developments affecting the bank's business.
- Report regularly to the Head of Legal, Japan, and other relevant regional heads.
Required skills
- Japanese Law degree or equivalent commonwealth qualification.
- Native level Japanese and fluent English.
- Significant experience (6-10 years) in financial institutions or law firms in Japan.

- Strong understanding of banking products and market knowledge.
- IT literate with excellent communication skills.
