Senior Actuary Analyst - Global Insurance Tokyo

Join a leading international financial group as a Senior Actuary Analyst and deliver actuarial analysis that supports reinsurance design and capital strategies. You will work on high-impact projects across Japan and APAC, providing data-driven insights and driving risk management excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide actuarial and probabilistic financial analysis for reinsurance decision-making
• Organize client data, perform checks, build models, and prepare clear reports
• Manage end-to-end projects, ensuring high quality and timely delivery
• Develop and enhance financial models using industry-standard actuarial platforms
• Present findings and conduct internal and external training sessions
• Contribute to process improvement projects and development of new services
• Research regulatory and industry trends relevant to reinsurance strategies

Required Skills and Qualifications

Experience:

• 3+ years actuarial experience in non-life insurance pricing, reserving, or risk
• Strong proficiency in MS Office including Excel and Access
• Familiarity with DFA software for reinsurance modelling and optimisation
• Knowledge of actuarial pricing methods such as experience and exposure rating
• Programming skills in R, Python, or SQL are an advantage
• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or Statistics
• Progress with actuarial exams from recognized professional bodies

Soft Skills:

• Fluent Japanese and business-level English
• Strong interpersonal and presentation abilities
• Independent worker with a collaborative team mindset
• Detail-oriented, accurate and thorough
• Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Curious and adaptable, with strong problem-solving skills
