Join a global technology leader as a Patent Filing & Prosecution Manager, driving the full lifecycle of patents in the fast-growing mobile and cloud-native telecom sector. You will oversee filing, prosecution, portfolio management, and SEP activities while collaborating with world-class engineers and global teams to shape international IP strategy and competitive positioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead SEP acquisition activities for 3GPP and O-RAN standards.
- Develop and manage global patent portfolios for mobile networks and devices.
- Harvest inventions from R&D teams and oversee end-to-end patent lifecycle (filings, prosecution, office actions).
- Conduct competitor portfolio analysis and market positioning studies.
- Perform IP clearance reviews and draft/review IP-related contracts.
- Support IP strategy formulation and collaborate with engineers, legal teams, and global subsidiaries.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Hands-on experience in patent filing and prosecution.
- Strong knowledge of IP portfolio management and patent office procedures.
- Business-level English proficiency (TOEIC 800+ or equivalent).
Soft Skills:

Strategic thinker with strong analytical and organizational abilities; proactive collaborator in innovation-driven environments.
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Business-level (for filings, compliance, and local operations).
- English: Fluent (for drafting, global communication, and negotiations).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in SEP prosecution or copyright protection.
- Engineering background in telecom or mobile devices.
- Experience in IP clearance and contract/licensing agreements.
