As a Market Risk Manager, you will blend technical financial product knowledge, real-time financial market monitoring, and quantitative data analysis/modeling. This role requires strong communication skills to report risk positions, influence risk takers, and inform stakeholders.
Roles/Responsibilities
- Identify, manage, and communicate market risk exposures in all product lines with a focus on Credit Trading transactions.
- Manage significant risk positions and perform quantitative and qualitative analysis.
- Understand risk management practices and financial products.
- Engage with trading desks and undertake risk reporting for various audiences, including traders, senior management, and regulators.
- Conduct risk analysis using firm systems and ad-hoc methods.
- Effectively communicate analysis results in both standard and ad-hoc formats.
- Manage stress testing for the Global Credit portfolio and conduct region-wide reviews.
- Assist with ad-hoc risk-related queries, drill-down analysis, VaR/stress analysis, and risk trends.
Required skills
- 3-5 years of experience in Market or Credit Risk management at a top financial institution.
- Understanding of market risk metrics, credit, the Greeks, VaR, and stress scenarios.
- Proficiency in Excel (VBA skills desirable) and database management.
Preferred skills
- Experience with credit spectrum transactions from investment grade to high yield or working with a Syndicate/Credit trading desk is a plus.
