Key Responsibilities
- Lead licensing negotiations for patents, trademarks, and mobile network technologies.
- Analyze and manage standard essential patents (SEPs) linked to 3GPP and O-RAN standards.
- Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related contracts, including licensing, outsourcing, and vendor agreements.
- Provide strategic IP advice while collaborating with engineers, external counsel, and cross-functional teams.
- Use English extensively in negotiations, meetings, and contract drafting.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Practical experience in patent or trademark licensing negotiations.
- Knowledge of SEPs and mobile communication technologies.
- Strong experience drafting and reviewing IP-related contracts.
Languages:
- Business-level English (TOEIC 800+ or equivalent).
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Fluent (required for contracts and compliance).
- English: Fluent (essential for global negotiations and drafting).
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Japanese Patent Attorney or Attorney-at-Law qualification.
- Certified Intellectual Property Management Skills Test (Level 1).
- Work or study experience in English-speaking environments.
