A leading global investment bank is seeking an experienced Head of Equity Sales Japan to lead and expand its institutional equities franchise in one of the world's most sophisticated financial markets.
This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished equity sales professional with a strong network across Japanese institutional investors and a proven track record of driving revenue growth. You will be responsible for leading the Equity Sales business in Japan, developing strategic client relationships, and partnering closely with Trading, Research, Capital Markets, and senior management teams to grow market share and strengthen the firm's position within the Japanese equities market.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Equity Sales business in Japan, driving revenue growth and expanding institutional client relationships.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans aligned with the firm's global and regional objectives.
- Build and maintain relationships with key institutional investors, asset managers, pension funds, hedge funds, and other market participants.
- Collaborate closely with Equity Research, Trading, and Capital Markets teams to deliver high-value investment ideas and solutions to clients.
- Identify new business opportunities and enhance the firm's market presence within Japan.
- Mentor and develop junior sales professionals while fostering a high-performance team culture.
- Represent the firm externally at industry events, conferences, and client meetings.
- Provide market intelligence and client feedback to senior management and global stakeholders.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 10 years of Equity Sales experience within an investment bank operating in Japan.
- Demonstrated success covering Japanese institutional investors and generating significant revenue growth.
- Deep understanding of Japanese equity markets, institutional investment products, and capital markets.
- Proven leadership experience managing client relationships and driving business development initiatives.
- Strong network across asset managers, pension funds, insurance companies, hedge funds, and other institutional investors.
