A leading global financial institution is seeking an experienced Financial Legal Director for its Tokyo branch. In this high-impact role, you will provide legal support for complex finance transactions, cross-border documentation, and regulatory matters. As part of a collaborative in-house legal team, you will play a critical role in shaping legal strategy and ensuring compliance in a dynamic, international environment.
Key Responsibilities

Provide legal support for corporate loans, structured finance, project finance, and syndicated lending transactions.

Draft, review, and negotiate legal documents in both English and Japanese, including loan agreements, collateral arrangements, and guarantees.

Manage relationships and negotiations with external counsel and counterparties.

Advise the compliance department on Japanese financial regulations and legal frameworks.

Contribute to legal strategy, internal reporting, and assist in resolving disputes when necessary.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:

8-10+ years of relevant legal experience in finance, ideally in an international law firm or financial institution.

Proven ability to manage multiple high-stakes matters independently.
