We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller Manager to join a dynamic financial services firm offering trading, asset management, and venture investment services. Based in Tokyo, this role provides the opportunity to lead financial reporting and regulatory compliance while partnering with finance teams across EMEA and Europe. You will play a key role in strengthening financial controls, supporting business growth, and driving best practices within a collaborative international environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual group consolidation and financial reporting activities.
- Collaborate with finance teams across Japan, EMEA, and Europe to ensure accurate and timely regulatory reporting.
- Develop and enhance accounting policies, internal financial controls, and reporting processes.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to support new business initiatives and provide guidance on complex accounting matters.
- Coordinate financial audits, reconciliations, and documentation with external auditors and cross-functional teams.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or financial control within the financial services industry.
- Proven experience leading financial reporting, regulatory reporting, and group consolidation activities.
- Strong knowledge of accounting standards, financial controls, and reporting processes.
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate with regional and global stakeholders.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills in a multicultural business environment.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Business-level proficiency.
- English: Business-level proficiency.

- Experience within investment banking, capital markets, or digital assets.
- Experience supporting group consolidation across multiple legal entities or regions.
