Corporate Finance Manager Tokyo - M&A Advisory

A leading global consulting firm is seeking a Corporate Finance Manager to support high-impact M&A advisory engagements in Japan and internationally. This role offers exposure to the full M&A lifecycle, from deal origination through execution and closing, working closely with senior clients, investors, and internal advisory teams. You will play a key role in delivering strategic and financial insight while strengthening long-term client relationships in a global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end M&A advisory engagements, including sourcing, execution, and transaction closing
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients, managing relationships throughout M&A processes
- Drive M&A initiatives as a principal within corporate planning or overseas business strategy functions
- Support M&A strategy development, due diligence, and PMI initiatives in consulting engagements
- Communicate and negotiate with domestic and international stakeholders in Prepare valuation models, pitch materials, analytical reports, and manage overall project delivery
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- 4-5+ years of hands-on experience focused on M&A transactions within investment banks, securities firms, advisory firms, consulting firms, or corporate strategy roles
- Proven experience managing client relationships while actively contributing to M&A deal execution
- Strong exposure to financial analysis, valuation, and transaction processes Bachelor's degree or higher from a four-year university
Soft Skills:
- Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities
- Excellent time management and ability to manage multiple workstreams
- Highly developed logical and analytical thinking
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level
- English: Business level (must be able to contribute to discussions and negotiations)
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working on cross-border M&A transactions
- Background in strategy consulting or financial advisory environments
