Step into a pivotal compliance position at a fast-growing global financial institution. This is an exciting opportunity for a compliance professional to support legal and regulatory operations across multiple business lines. The role starts as a 6-month contract with a strong possibility of transitioning to a permanent role based on performance. You'll gain broad exposure to compliance across asset classes, jurisdictions, and fintech-driven operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide legal and compliance advice across commercial and regulatory matters
- Review and maintain internal policies, contracts, and legal documentation
- Execute compliance monitoring, surveillance, and AML control processes
- Advise on licensing, product compliance, KYC, and financial regulations
- Support the review of marketing materials and digital content (e.g., website)
- Manage client complaints, regulatory inquiries, and prepare for audits
- Deliver internal training on compliance and legal awareness topics
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- At least 2 years of experience in compliance or legal roles within financial services
- Hands-on experience with AML procedures or compliance monitoring
- Proven familiarity with Japanese financial regulations and capital markets
- Interaction with Japanese regulatory bodies is highly preferred
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Native level (required)
- English: Business level (reading/writing and spoken communication)
Soft Skills:
- Independent, proactive problem-solver with a detail-oriented mindset
- Collaborative communicator who can work effectively across teams and cultures
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in capital markets, derivatives, or cross-border compliance
- Understanding of fintech or online brokerage business models
- Ability to draft and review compliance documentation and internal policies
- Familiarity with MS Office and basic digital compliance tools
