Roles/Responsibilities
- The Compliance department operates as the Second Line of Defense (LOD), tasked with overseeing and challenging the Group's business activities (First LOD) to ensure proper management of Regulatory Compliance risks. As 'Risk Stewards,' this team works independently from the commercial risk-taking activities of the First LOD, managing a variety of non-financial risks.
- Maintain regulatory compliance for bank branches, securities firms, and asset management companies.
- Track regulatory developments and disseminate information to relevant parties.
- Handle routine and special regulatory notifications and filings.
- Assist in updating policies and internal regulations.
- Support and deliver compliance training programs.
- Coordinate responses to regulatory information requests, including the preparation of annual hearing sheets.
- Serve as a liaison with regulatory authorities and collaborate with regional and local compliance teams, as well as other key departments in Japan.
Required skills
- Fluent Japanese and business level English.
- Experience working within a Investment Bank, Commercial Bank or other financial institution.
- An understanding of compliance and the desire to work long-term in this area.
