A global leader in commercial real estate services is seeking an Associate Director - Strategy & Transformation to help build and scale a newly launched Organization Design & Technology Advisory practice in Tokyo.
Operating at the intersection of strategy consulting, business transformation, organization design, change management, and technology advisory, you will lead complex consulting engagements for major Japanese and multinational corporations. Projects will span Corporate Real Estate (CRE) strategy, target operating model design, organizational transformation, global governance, post-M&A integration, and data and AI platform strategy.
Beyond client delivery, you will play a key role in building the consulting practice itself-establishing methodologies and delivery standards, developing consulting frameworks, coaching team members, and working closely with practice leadership to expand the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex strategy consulting and business transformation engagements for major Japanese and multinational clients.
- Develop and execute management-level Corporate Real Estate (CRE) strategies for global leased and owned portfolios.
- Advise clients on APAC expansion, location strategy, global governance models, and post-M&A real estate integration.
- Assess, redesign, and implement target operating models, organizational structures, and governance frameworks.
- Lead change management programs that align CRE strategy with enterprise objectives and organizational culture.
- Lead functional design and solution architecture for Single Source of Truth (SSOT) data platforms and AI solutions.
- Advise clients on integrating real estate data with finance, HR, and facility management datasets.
- Enable advanced analytics and executive decision-making through integrated data strategies.
- Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact and execution lead across multi-stream consulting projects.
- Establish consulting methodologies, delivery toolkits, documentation standards, and quality frameworks.
- Coach and mentor consultants on structured problem-solving, client communication, and change management.
- Work closely with practice leadership and transaction teams to expand the advisory business and identify cross-selling opportunities.
- Support the continued development and scaling of the Organization Design & Technology Advisory practice in Japan.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Extensive professional experience in business transformation, strategy consulting, or management consulting, gained within a consulting firm or corporate in-house transformation team.
- Strong experience in organization design, target operating model redesign, and change management.
- Experience in technology advisory, data platform strategy, or technology-enabled business transformation.
- Experience leading complex client engagements and managing day-to-day consulting project execution.
- Ability to structure and design data platform and AI solutions from a functional and business perspective.
- Experience developing consulting frameworks, structured deliverables, or transformation methodologies.
- An engineering or computer science degree is not required; practical functional technology design capability is essential.

- Knowledge of SSOT data platforms, AI solutions, data architecture, or enterprise analytics.
- Experience integrating data across real estate, finance, HR, and facility management functions.
- Experience with APAC expansion, global operating models, or post-M&A integration.
- Experience developing a new consulting service, capability, or practice area.
- Experience working directly with C-suite and senior executive stakeholders.
- Experience supporting cross-border consulting projects.
