Our client, a well-established construction company, is seeking a reliable and organised Accounts Assistant to support the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of the business. This is a part-time position (3 days per week) and will suit someone with strong bookkeeping experience who is comfortable working in a busy environment and supporting multiple aspects of the accounts function.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting payroll and supplier payments, assisting with onboarding new employees, and ensuring strong governance and compliance through organised documentation and filing systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process and manage supplier invoices, ensuring accurate coding and timely entry into the accounting system.
- Assist with accounts payable and supplier payment processing.
- Support the preparation of payroll.
- Maintain accurate financial records within ABM.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and general bookkeeping duties as required.
- Support the finance function with general administrative tasks and reporting where needed.
- Assist with the onboarding of new employees, ensuring required documentation is completed and recorded.
- Maintain and organise employee records in line with company policies.
- Maintain strong filing systems for financial and employee documentation.
- Ensure records are kept accurately and in line with company governance and compliance requirements.
Key Requirements:
- Previous experience in a Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant, or similar finance support role.
- Experience using ABM (Advanced Business Manager) or similar accounting systems is highly desirable.
- Strong experience processing supplier invoices and supporting payroll.
- Excellent organisational and filing skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Understanding of financial controls, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.
- Strong communication and administrative skills.
