Senior Tax Specialist - Family Office

The Role
This role sits within a Family Office environment and focuses on delivering practical, high-quality tax support for High-Net-Worth individuals and their related entities. You'll work closely with the CFO and external advisors across multiple jurisdictions, supporting both ongoing tax compliance and complex planning initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage external tax advisors across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring work is delivered accurately, on time, and cost-effectively
- Support tax planning and execution of repatriation strategies, identifying withholding and tax exposure risks
- Partner with the CFO on Canadian and cross-border tax planning (inbound and outbound)
- Assist with special transactions including M&A, restructurings, and estate planning
- Review accounting records and financial reports for individuals, corporations, and partnerships
- Coordinate global tax compliance filings (Canada, US, and other jurisdictions)
- Manage correspondence with tax authorities, including audits and reconciliations
- Oversee tax compliance processes to ensure deadlines are consistently met
- Monitor tax developments relevant to High-Net-Worth individuals and private corporations
Qualifications
- CPA designation
- CPA In-Depth Tax Course completed or in progress, or a Master's in Tax
- 6-7 years of experience in public accounting or industry
- Solid Canadian tax knowledge; US tax exposure is an advantage
- Experience advising individuals and corporations on income tax matters
