About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a global financial services organisation seeking a Payroll Officer to join their Payroll team on a fixed-term contract during a period of project activity.
This role sits within a busy and collaborative payroll function, supporting the accurate and timely processing of payroll across a multi-entity environment. You will play an important role in ensuring payroll data integrity, compliance and service delivery across the employee lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing & Data Management
- Support the accurate processing of payroll in line with established payroll cycles
- Maintain payroll data including:
- New starters
- Employee changes and rate adjustments
- Terminations and final pay processing
- Allowances, deductions, tax and superannuation updates
- Validate employee onboarding and termination data within payroll cycles
- Ensure payroll schedules and employee records are accurately maintained in the system
Payroll Checking & Compliance
- Perform payroll checks and validations to ensure accuracy and data integrity
- Review payroll inputs and calculations and support variance reporting
- Assist in identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies in a timely manner
- Validate timesheets, overtime, reimbursements and other variable payments
- Support compliance with Australian taxation, superannuation and employment legislation
Employee & Stakeholder Support
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Escalate complex payroll issues where required, ensuring clear communication and follow-through
Systems & Process Support
- Use Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) to support end-to-end payroll processing activities
- Follow established payroll processes to ensure audit compliance and data accuracy
- Support the payroll team with BAU and project-related tasks as required
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Approximately 1+ years' experience in Australian payroll
- Strong understanding of taxation, superannuation and leave entitlements
- High attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
- Ability to work effectively in a deadline-driven payroll cycle environment
- Strong Excel skills and confidence working with payroll data
- Exposure to Oracle E-Business Suite or similar ERP payroll systems
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-focused approach
