Join a cutting-edge automotive diagnostics team as a Resident Engineer embedded at a major Japanese OEM. In this role, you'll support the development of next-generation vehicle diagnostics applications used by dealerships and service shops. Leverage your specialized knowledge in diagnostics tools to directly contribute to Japan's evolving mobility ecosystem while collaborating in a global, cross-cultural engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development of vehicle diagnostics applications used at dealerships and service centers
- Act as a resident engineer working on-site at the OEM's office
- Collaborate with the OEM's diagnostics team and internal stakeholders to ensure product integration
- Provide feedback and coordination between OEM engineers and internal development teams
- Participate in the research and development of next-gen diagnostic software solutions
- Maintain strong knowledge of ETAS tools and integrate their application into the OEM project portfolio
- Facilitate clear, professional communication with all stakeholders to ensure project alignment
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in the automotive industry
- In-depth understanding of vehicle diagnostics tools, including software (diagnostic applications) and hardware (VCI)
- Strong grasp of use cases and operational context of diagnostics systems
- Ability to work autonomously in a structured and focused manner, with a hands-on mindset
Education:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering
Language Requirements
- Japanese: Native level (JLPT N1 equivalent)
- English: Business level
Soft Skills:
- High sense of responsibility and strong communication skills

Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Previous experience in OEM-side vehicle diagnostics application development
