As a Semiconductor Quality Assurance Engineer, you will help ensure the quality and reliability of advanced semiconductor products manufactured at large-scale 300mm wafer fabrication facilities.
This role focuses on quality assurance, semiconductor manufacturing processes, engineering change validation, defect prevention, and Quality Management Systems (QMS). You will work across technical and operational teams to maintain shipment quality, evaluate process changes, and continuously improve manufacturing quality standards for products supplied to global customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage quality assurance operations for semiconductor manufacturing and drive continuous improvements in production and process quality.
- Review, validate, and approve Process Change Notices (PCN) to ensure engineering changes meet established quality requirements.
- Maintain high product shipment quality standards and implement proactive measures to prevent defects and recurring quality issues.
- Maintain and continuously improve the organisation's Quality Management System (QMS) to support consistent manufacturing standards.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and other operational teams to identify issues and implement effective quality improvements.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience:
- Associate degree from a Kosen or technical college, or higher qualification, in a STEM field such as science, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
- Strong analytical capability for evaluating manufacturing processes, engineering changes, and potential quality risks.
- Ability to apply technical and quantitative knowledge within a semiconductor manufacturing and quality assurance environment.
Soft Skills:
- Strong problem-solving mindset with an emphasis on root-cause analysis and defect prevention.
- Structured and analytical approach to evaluating process changes and quality issues.
- Collaborative communication skills for working effectively across technical, manufacturing, and operational teams.
- Ability to contribute proactively to continuous quality and process improvement initiatives.
Language Requirements:
- Japanese: Fluent.
- English: TOEIC 500+ or practical ability to read and write business emails.
- Chinese: Conversational Chinese may be considered as an alternative language capability.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Previous quality assurance, quality control, or semiconductor process engineering experience within a manufacturing company.
- Knowledge of mathematics, statistical analysis, and their application to manufacturing quality.
- Experience communicating and collaborating with international clients or stakeholders.
- Strong IT literacy and confidence working with technology-driven manufacturing processes.
