    About the job

    A leading multinational organisation is seeking a Communications Officer to join its team. The organisation operates across multiple international markets and has a diverse portfolio of products and services across retail, wholesale and foodservice channels.

    The Communications Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering engaging internal and external communications that support employee engagement, enhance the company's profile and align with wider business objectives.

    A creative, organised and proactive communicator, the successful candidate will create compelling content, manage internal communication channels and drive colleague engagement across the business.

    Working closely with stakeholders across Ireland and the wider international organisation, the role will lead internal communications planning, develop and schedule content, and promote company culture, achievements, innovations and key business messages.

    The Communications Officer will also support external communications activities, including corporate announcements, press releases, social media content, events, exhibitions and brand activations.

    Location: Dundalk
    Working Arrangement: Hybrid - 2 days working from home
    Reports to: Marketing Manager

    Key Responsibilities

    Internal Communications

    • Manage and continuously improve the organisation's internal communications platform, ensuring content is engaging, relevant and widely adopted across the business.
    • Drive measurable increases in employee engagement, readership, content interaction and platform adoption.
    • Develop and implement internal communications strategies that align with organisational goals.
    • Develop and manage monthly and quarterly content calendars designed to engage, inspire and empower internal stakeholders.
    • Generate engaging content for the internal communications platform.
    • Collaborate with Marketing and third-party vendors to develop engaging content for dissemination across operations in Ireland and the wider international region.
    • Establish an internal network for sourcing relevant communications and stories from across the organisation.
    • Develop a pipeline for delivering regular and systematic news updates from key functions, including Corporate, Marketing, Sustainability and HR.
    • Write, edit and distribute internal manuals, newsletters, emails and communications to keep employees informed of company updates, events and initiatives.
    • Collaborate with leadership and department heads to ensure messaging is clear, consistent and impactful.
    • Manage internal communication platforms, such as intranets and employee communication channels, ensuring content is regularly updated.
    • Assist with planning and executing employee engagement initiatives, town halls and other internal events.
    • Collect and analyse employee feedback to continually improve internal communications.
    • Act as a point of contact for internal communications queries and troubleshooting.

    Skills & Experience

    • Proven experience in content creation, media relations or a related communications field.
    • Outstanding writing, editing and storytelling abilities, with a strong command of language and tone.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritise and manage an annual content calendar.
    • Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
    • Creative mindset with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging narratives.
    • Confident communicator and presenter who can represent the organisation externally.
    • Basic design or visual content skills, with experience using tools such as PowerPoint, CapCut, Canva or Adobe.
    • Experience with internal communications platforms or employee engagement tools would be advantageous but is not essential.

    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
    • Creative and confident in developing engaging communications.
    • Ability to work collaboratively across different teams and functions.
