A leading Big 4 Accountancy firm who has one of the leading Indirect Tax practices in the UK are seeking a VAT Manager to join their team.
The team consists of 15 partners and approximately 230 professionals who provide advice and support in all aspects of Indirect Tax (VAT, Customs Duty, Green taxes) to a broad range of business sectors including large multi-nationals, household name retailers and public sector organisations. The Large Corporates Indirect Tax practice is a fast-growing and dynamic business. Within the team we have specialists in sectors such as Retail, Supply Chain and International Trade, Life Sciences, TMT and Energy & Natural Resources. We work closely with our Trade & Customs and Corporate tax colleagues to deliver value and support our portfolio of clients.
As a key member of our Large Corporates Indirect Tax team you will be:
- Providing high quality indirect tax advice for clients in line with UK legislation, HMRC guidance, and other local tax jurisdiction rules;
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships for those clients you are responsible for;
- Developing innovative solutions for our clients including identifying VAT risks and opportunities;
- Managing finances, including developing and managing project budgets and billing to ensure profitable delivery of client engagements;
- Managing some of the team's business development and marketing initiatives;
- Coaching and developing junior team members of the team from both a technical and commercial perspective;
- Working closely with directors and partners who will provide you with the support and opportunities to assist you in realising your full potential;
- Linking closely with specialist colleagues in International Tax, Transfer pricing and Indirect Tax (Trade and Customs) where necessary.

- Has an appreciation of and/or understanding of ethical/risk issues within a client service environment;
- Is willing to coach less experienced staff. Gives clear direction and can provide positive, constructive feedback;

- Monitors and upholds high quality of service to clients.
