An exciting opportunity has arisen for a qualified finance professional to join a large, forward-thinking organisation in a newly created Strategic Project Finance Manager role.
This position sits within a high-performing FP&A function and offers the chance to work on major strategic initiatives, transformation programmes and investment projects that directly influence business performance and long-term growth.
Working closely with senior finance leaders and stakeholders across the organisation, you'll provide financial insight, challenge and decision support for a diverse portfolio of strategic projects.
The Role
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting financial planning, forecasting and budgeting for strategic projects and investment programmes.
- Developing and maintaining detailed financial models to support business cases, investment appraisals and strategic decision-making.
- Analysing project costs, financial performance, benefits realisation and associated risks.
- Producing insightful management reporting, dashboards and performance commentary for senior stakeholders.
- Partnering with project managers, operational leaders and executives to ensure financial assumptions are robust and commercially sound.
- Providing financial support on tenders, commercial opportunities and service transformation initiatives.
- Monitoring project governance, funding utilisation and post-implementation reviews.
- Collaborating with Finance, Commercial and Operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and project accounting.
- Driving improvements to financial planning processes, reporting tools and systems.
- Acting as a trusted business partner, translating complex financial information into meaningful commercial insight.
- About You
To be successful, you'll be a commercially minded finance professional with excellent analytical skills and experience supporting strategic business decisions.
You'll ideally have:
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent.
- Proven experience in FP&A, commercial finance or strategic finance within a complex organisation.
- Strong financial modelling skills with experience developing business cases and investment appraisals.
- Experience of budgeting, forecasting, reporting and variance analysis.
- Exposure to strategic projects, transformation programmes or large-scale change initiatives.
- Advanced Excel skills with strong financial modelling capability.
- Experience with planning and reporting systems such as Adaptive Planning, Office Connect or similar would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of SQL, Tableau or other analytical tools would be beneficial but is not essential.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the confidence to influence senior decision-makers.
