Morgan McKinley are currently wokring with a worlwide Financial institution who is looking to hire a Finance Manager for their Charity arm of the business. This role will be based in their London office based near Cannon Street and offers hybrid wokring, excellent benefits and work life balance.
Prepare and manage annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with senior management and budget holders
Produce accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including variance analysis
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including income, expenditure, payroll, and cash flow management
Prepare year-end accounts and act as the main point of contact for auditors and independent examiners
Ensure accurate coding and allocation of restricted and unrestricted funds
Ensure compliance with Charity Commission requirements, statutory regulations, and funder conditions
Maintain strong financial controls, policies, and procedures
Support Trustees with financial reports, insights, and advice
Contribute to risk management and financial planning
Monitor income from grants, contracts, and donations, ensuring compliance with funding agreements
Support grant applications by preparing budgets and financial information
Produce funder reports and financial returns as required
Line-manage finance staff (where applicable) and support their development
Work closely with programme managers to support effective financial planning and monitoring
Act as a finance business partner across the organisation, promoting financial understanding
Maintain and improve financial systems and processes
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, value for money, and financial sustainability
Support digitalisation and system upgrades where appropriate
Qualified accountant (CCAB or equivalent) or qualified by experience
Strong experience in financial management, ideally within the charity or non-profit sector
Knowledge of charity accounting (e.g. SORP) and restricted funds
Experience preparing budgets, management accounts, and year-end accounts
Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills
Strong communication skills, able to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues
High level of integrity and commitment to the charity's values
Experience working with Charity Commission regulations
Experience managing grants and funder reporting
Line management experience
Experience with charity finance systems (e.g. Sage, Xero, QuickBooks)
