Finance Director 3 month contract role

Morgan McKinley are currently working with a global luxury retail brand in resourcing a Finance Director on a contract basis for an initial 3 months.
The Finance Director will play a pivotal leadership role within the business overseeing the Finance department while also managing the HR/ Shipping & Logistics functions. This is a hands-on position that requires a strategic thinker with a strong operational mindset, a passion for process improvement, and strong commercial acumen.
The successful candidate will lead a small, high-performing team and work closely with senior management to drive financial performance,
operational efficiency, and sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:
- Run finance function for the group
- Manage HR function for the group
- Manage Shipping & Logistics function for the group
- Lead, manage and develop all direct reports in the above mentioned functions
- Business partnering closely with the CEO and other senior stakeholders to ensure the group achieves its strategic objectives
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all internal financial reporting
- Prepare statutory financial statements for all entities in the group and ensure submission by required deadlines
- Manage relationship with external auditors and prepare audit packs
- Manage all direct and indirect tax for the group
- Responsible for cash forecasting and manage working capital to support business needs, including stock planning
- Prepare annual budget
- Ensure sufficient insurance in place across all business risks
- Ensure robust financial controls, systems, and policies are in place and maintained
- Managing transactional team and overseeing sales ledger, purchase ledger, payroll, cash posting and all general ledger entries
- Manage the roll out of continuous system improvements
- Other ad-hoc tasks to support business needs
Desired Skills and Experience:
- Fully qualified ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent
- Luxury Goods retail would be a big plus but not essential
- Must have experience in leading, motivating and developing finance functions
- Passion for systems and process improvements
- Excellent Excel skills
This role is urgent and will be an immediate start. The role is Hybrid with 4 days expected in their Central office London. This is paying 95K equivalent, FTC or day rate may be considered.
