    We are partnering confidentially with a globally recognised financial services business to recruit an AVP - Financial Reporting Accountant. Sitting within the Finance department, you'll play a key role in supporting the Financial Control team, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, preparing subsidiary financial statements, liaising with auditors, and driving process improvements across the organisation.

    This is a pivotal role within a high-performing team, supporting both statutory and management reporting. You'll work closely with senior Finance stakeholders, gaining exposure to a broad range of financial operations in a complex, multi-jurisdictional environment.

    Key Responsibilities

    Financial Reporting & Month-End Support

    • Assist with month-end close and prepare journals for legal entities and consolidation.
    • Help prepare subsidiary annual financial statements and liaise with auditors during year-end and interim audits.
    • Reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare intercompany invoices for settlement.
    • Conduct P&L analysis for subsidiaries.

    Process Improvement & Controls

    • Implement process improvements across reporting and internal control procedures.
    • Maintain procedure documentation to ensure consistency and accuracy.
    • Support Senior Financial Controller and Head of Financial Control in driving continuous improvement initiatives.

    Operational & Regulatory Support

    • Prepare bank reconciliations and journal postings in Oracle.
    • Assist with tax-related matters, including VAT and US sales tax returns, partnering with external advisors.
    • Prepare other regulatory or statistical returns (ONS, BEA, Swiss/US surveys).
    • Coordinate subsidiary year-end audits and support audit processes.

    Your Profile

    • Newly Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA), ideally with practice training or Financial Accounting experience in a large financial services firm.
    • Relevant degree
    • Strong experience in statutory financial reporting, management accounts, and handling routine and complex accounting issues.
    • Highly numerate, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines consistently.
    • Collaborative team player with a good understanding of controls and processes.
    • Able to drive continuous improvement and support a culture of learning within Finance.
